Last year, the New JACC project was awarded a Challenge Grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities. This is a 4:1 matching grant, with $750,000 provided by the Endowment and $3,000,000 to be matched by the project, totaling $3,750,000 for the new building! A large portion of this grant will be used to equip and finish the theater during the construction phase of the project.

One of the primary functions of the New Juneau Arts & Culture Center is to provide professional space to arts and culture organizations in Juneau while also providing a welcoming gathering space for visitors and members of the community. The 300-seat theater in the new building is key to achieving this goal, and this grant will help make that possible.
